| Chemical element of symbol Te, belonging to group 16 of the periodic table, of atomic number 52 and atomic mass 127,6. It has various allotropic forms. The stable that has a structure similar to that of gray selenium and is presented as a silvery gray solid, is brittle and behaves like a semiconductor. It is used in the manufacture of alloys and semiconductors, in the vulcanization of rubber, in the glass and ceramics industry. |
